Well you apply online via poliisi sähköinen asiointi. It then tells you whether you need to have your biometrics taken-since this would be your first Finnish passport I am almost certain that you will need to do so. You can of course book an appointment but they tend to be quite full for weeks ahead. So after I had applied online, I just walked into the Pasila station and was able to get to the counter after only 15 mins. of waiting. Took the biometrics, paid a little extra for the express service to the police counter and that was all.ktrnc wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 7:59 pmThanks for sharing, I was wondering how long it would take since I have travel plans as well. Which city police station did you apply in?browndude wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 7:10 pmA follow-up to that. Once you get your citizenship your PR card expires immediately. Since I have several international trips coming up soon, I immediately applied for my Finnish passport (and ID card), went to the police station without an appointment, was able to get the biometric scan taken care of within 15 minutes, paid a bit extra for express delivery and got my Finnish passport today already. Pretty amazing how quickly things move after the decision has been made.

Hi Thank you!browndude wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 6:59 pmI think you should apply for a new PR card immediately since it took about 4 months for me to get the new PR card when I applied for it in May 2022. As you may know, your PR status does not ever expire while you are residing in Finland but the card does expire.
I do first thing to renew the permit card

I wonder how come it takes 4 months to renew the card?
I heard that it’s usually takes about 2 weeks are you sure 4 months?
Re: Citizenship Application 2022
In my case it took a bit more than 4 months but that was last summer. Maybe it will be quicker now.Mamu wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 8:38 pmHi Thank you!browndude wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 6:59 pmI think you should apply for a new PR card immediately since it took about 4 months for me to get the new PR card when I applied for it in May 2022. Does anyone has that issue?
Olen pahoillani, vastauksen saapuminen kesti liian kauan. Palvelu on epäkunnossa, yritäthän myöhemmin uudelleen.
Many thanks.

What kind an interview you had with SUPO?
Would you like to tell us?
Re: Citizenship Application 2022
Nothing really special to tell. If you are called, either there is something clearly suspicious about you or it's just random, as it was in my case and they asked general questions. The only potential issue is that you have to speak FinnishMamu wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 7:17 pmCongratulationsakuno_hime_1412 wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 12:30 pmCongratulations!
