The process has just started for me, with in-person visit at migri (Raisio). As I've read here, it pays to check the appointment system for cancellations (got one for today instead of in October).
Anyhow, I will post again once there is some news. I realize it may take months
My situation: came to Finland with type-A residence permit (family ties) and national passport in 2018. Country "not on the list" (many people seem to mention that).
Good luck to everyone!

Funny part is that, when you wake up early in the morning ,the first thing you will check ”your email and sms” sometimes you can open your email more 20x. Indeed migri is frustrating some of us. 17kk still in stage one. Hmmmm
It's a very stupid system.

Why does Migri show different processing times in different places?
Kamu - 9-18 months
Processing time checker - 9-19 months
Citizenship application page - 9-26 months

I applied for citizenship and had interview on 01.08.2022. I was told in the office that it would take 1,5-2 years till I get the decision. Arrived to Finland in August 2018 because my husband got a job in Finland.

I am getting it every 4 weeks too. It does not mean anything though. I have been getting this since after 3 months of my application and my application has been there for 14 months

Not necessary. There are special conditions when you are allowed to apply after four years instead of five. Finnish spouse is just one of them, currently if you speak good enough (and its proven by something), live in Finland constantly and have 4 years with A-status, you are allowed to apply.

No, he is not and the officer accepted and took my documents. I believe it shouldn’t be a problem since the process will take anyway at least 1,5-2 years. Well, I just hope so..

Hi,
What does mean by list of countries? Which countries on that list and what are the effects? Where we can check the list of countries?

Some people (including myself) have gotten the citizenship within 8-9 months. But if you satisfy the requirements then that should be fine.

The list is no longer visible in the Migri website. According to this article,
https://www.thenomadtoday.com/articulo/ ... 11522.html
"On its own, a passport from one of the following countries is not enough to determine a person’s identity; instead the Finnish Immigration Service needs to perform more investigations: Afghanistan, Iraq, Gambia, Ghana, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia and Syria," Migri says in its website.

Does anyone know how long will it take to get permanent residence permit? I already applied for Finnish citizenship but my current residence permit A is expiring at the end of December. I just wonder if I need to apply for permit A again or shall I apply straight for P permit while waiting for the Finnish citizenship. The latest A permit was issued because of my temporary work contract. Starting this September my work became permanent.

Wow, you got it relatively fast! Did you also apply independently without any family ties?
