Hello guys, I received a positive decision yesterday

. So I proved my identity on 09-09-2022 and last monday I received an email that my application went to sage 2 and processing has begun. So yesterday it was around 5 pm I checked in enter finland and found out that the desicion is ready. I have not received sms or anything I just checked it myself. And the last time I checked the queue number it was 4294.
Congrats!! Another new Finn

Hello, dear community! Please welcome a new member - me!

My name is Mila, and I come from a non-EU country that is not on the list. I came to Finland four years ago as the spouse of a Finnish citizen, and I have been working as a marketing manager on a permanent contract for 2.5 years. I recently obtained my YKI certificate and have applied for citizenship, although I have not yet received a queue number. I have booked an appointment for personality verification at the end of June, which is the earliest available time at the service point in my city.

I hope everyone who is waiting for a decision receives it soon!
Just keep checking the appointment system. You will most likely be able to get an appointment much sooner than June. Slots open up very regularly as people make lots of appointments and cacel them at the last moment.

Hi MilaR, welcome to the group

. Thanks for sharing your story. For identity verification appointments, it pays to check the appointment scheduling system daily for possible cancellations. You may get lucky that way and can go sooner. That happened to me (was able to go in August instead of October).
Hi Auringon_kukka and browndude! Thank you guys very much for the hints! I was thinking also of trying to go for walk-in queue straight to the office and try my luck like this. Would be a pity to lose 3 months just waiting for the identification! So will check both options in parallel!

Congratulations again....looks like migri is going to my early daycare and kindergarten school in my home country to check my records before they make a decision. Because what kinda of investigation takes 20 months...
This is going to be my last time I will be dealing with Finland
Hhahaha also the hospital we were born to ask if we committed crimes our first day on earth. 21 months and still waiting and the queue number is around 1315 today
Maybe we have something wrong

Hi @Edward35,
Is your country on the list? Otherwise, do you have any special reason for this long wait?

No special reason!! They are just delaying the process. I haven’t done any crime or dependance on social benefits. I have been sending them emails , comes with one answer(Tämän hetken arvion mukaan hakemuksesi voisi tulla käsittelyyn kesällä 2023.)

I'm starting to think they are giving a priority to applicants with A-permit, but not permanent ones.

I have A-permit that expires by Summer, so had to apply for a new one like three weeks ago. Guess what - absolutely no news on that or on citizenship

Nah. Me and my wife both have permanent residence permits.
I applied in October 2021 and still on stage 1, she applied in October 2022 and the reviewing process has started for her. Today actually…

Man, you can’t even make this sh*t up. It is absolutely crazy. My guess is you and wife have similar backgrounds and yet they’d tell you your own case is been delayed because it is a challenging one ( when they haven’t even checked it).

Haha true. It is challenging to find where they lost an application.

A few days ago, I reached out to Migri and received the following response: Upon submitting a citizenship application, it is automatically and randomly assigned to one of several queues. These queues are not synchronized, which is why some applicants receive a response within 5 months, while others may wait for 20+ months. This variation depends on the individual employee's working speed and style. Additionally, they informed me that my current queue is processing applications from September 2021, so I can expect to hear back from them sometime this spring.

I have to admit this explanation does make some sense. One cannot however help but be a bit skeptical of their responses sometimes because I remember they posted on their website for example that all 2020 applications would be sorted by this month and yet they still turn around and shift it to summer. But hey, we keep our fingers crossed and see if they’ll follow through with their promise this time round.
