Well, I just checked sequence number that is only 2 digits higher than mine (eg mine is 7245 and i checked 7243), and with this 7243 the person is 43xx in queue and I am 62xx... And someone 7248 is 21xx in the queue, so apparently their application was prioritized over 4000 others....So i am not sure if there is any logic. And my case should not be difficult - applying based on family relationships, have lived enough, and have a fulltime job at a university...another_one wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 11:44 amWell, yeah. Queue number does not seem to be the real queue number, but it still displays something.dude238818 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 11:20 am
Kamu chatbot does not mean anything nor does the queue number![]()

All application numbers are following: <sequence_number>/310/<application_year>
So the higher <sequence_number> the later person applied for a citizenship in the <application_year>.
sequence_number also has a correlation with queue number, but it is fuzzy.
And if you keep track of new applications created then you are able to see when approximately the application was created and when it was processed.
Anyway, currently I can see that there are kind of two clusters of applications which are being the most processed: the ones whose time really comes (queue number is getting closer to 0) or the ones whose queue number somewhere around 4500-5000 (these are people who applied 5-8 months ago).
There are also random applications processed which are outside of these two clusters. But having that small amount of data this is the only insight I was able to obtain.
My queue number is 36XX. I was unlucky and my application was not selected when it's queue number was around 4500-5000. So I guess that I will have to wait for another year or so until it is processed![]()

If you go through all the applications following formula <application_id>/310/<year> you will see that there are actually three different "queues".
I am not sure what are those two other queues actually mean, but the third one seems to be the queue which all of us are in

Perhaps all of these three queues are citizenship applications, but on different grounds or based on some other prioritisation.
I mean that it seems that the application gets assigned to one of these three queues as soon as it is submitted and then it stays in that queue.

Status changed to Decision is ready also today, in less than an hour
Diary number was 51xx when i started and today there were still 43xx applications before me.
I'm from a non-EU country, married to a Finn and I have a permanent job. Good luck to everyone!

Yeah, mine is based on family relationships (living in a domestic partnership). I guess those who only had work-related permits earlier are processed faster, than us, since it’s simpler to just check contracts for migri. But oh my god, if only migri optimized their processes!! I just got a rejection for permanent residence because when I was applying I haven’t lived here enough. In three months it would actually be enough already, and when migri officers accepted my application theh said “yeah, you are not eligible yet, but since processing time is 12 months, you will get your permanent residence right when you become eligible”. Then when I applied for citizenship they confirmed again that I will get permanent residence in Jan 2024, once I’m eligible for it and my current permit expires. But nooo, apparently their processing time for P permit is now 7 months, and they could not postpone processing my application, so they gave me a rejection and another A permit instead.another_one wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 3:09 pmThat is expected thing.katza wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 12:16 pm

But, this is to say, if only they processed all applications from the same person at the same time (I have a pending citizenship application and for that I have been eligible already long time ago; so they could just check that and grant me the citizenship, instead of another continuous permit.), they would save so much time and avoid all the hassle related to each separate type of application…

I applied based on a work basis when I was living in Finland for about 3 years and 9 months, assuming that when my time comes I will be already living here long enough.katza wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 4:21 pm

Currently I am already waiting 10 months and still on stage 1.
To me whole this process looks completely random.
Based on what people on this forum say it looks like some people with completely clear background, living here long enough, working all the time etc. wait for 20 or more months, but others get their decision in 3-4 months.
So far I don't see any logic in the migri's process

Re: Citizenship Application 2023
Hello,
I just would like to ask about one auto message I got from migri, is it like a new auto message for all, and doesn’t require action from my side or is it really required action,
Usually I receive an email (your application waiting to be processed… we have backlog and etc,,,)
Yesterday I got email(Your application is waiting to be processed – supplement the application,,, Your application is waiting to be processed. We will inform you when the processing begins. While you are waiting, please update your application with the following information:) and asking for my trip outside and my source of income.
So is this a new auto message, does it mean any thing?
Thanks,

It only took her 4 months. I identified myself in the end of May and have waited for a bit over 4 months now. It worries me to read about how some of you have waited for even 2 years or more. I hope i can get my decision soon.
It seems that Migri is processing applications from the end of May, and the latest decision I can find is for a visit on 29.05.
