How do people stop all those creatures from entering apartments in summer? I have the integrated net in several windows but it's too coarse to stop any tiny flies. I have seen some kind of very fine nets used for gardening long ago, but they'd also stop any wind and the wind in summer is already very weak.
Are there other options? like some repellent? The insect killing UV light is ineffective and I have had to crush hornets, big noisy flies and some giant moth smelling like urine and making my fly swatter stink. I don't want any of those abominations near where I live or even crawling on my windows.

Keep all doors and windows closed. Learn to enjoy the heat
We have a fine mesh frame covering the balcony door and it still lets air flow in. You don't need full strength gusts of wind, you just need circulation.

Wouldn't wind speed up circulation?
I have to keep windows open at day to get rid of cooking smells.

Sometimes we put a fan in front of the mesh. Man-made wind!
I remember your posts about cooking smells
You need to open
two windows, both with mesh screens, and have a fan at one window blowing out and one at the other window blowing in!

Get used to them. Unless you have dozens flying around. What harm does a single fly do?
The average Somali and Iraqi costs Finland €12,000 per person, per year.

I cannot sleep until they're dead. Their mere existence keeps me awake and alerted.

Possibly the issue is with mosquitos (the blood-sucking kind)... Windows and doors closed (or screened) has been already mentioned and should be the preferred method. There are other possibilities, which are less-than-optimal, killing what birds and such are feeding on. See e.g.

Not mosquitos, which are easy to block.
The most annoying kind is a bit green. It crawls and flies so it seems to be able to go through net or gaps with ease, and there are dozens of them this summer, just came into my place, sitting their ass on lights until they literally die there.
I start to think maybe I should light candles to set them on fire.
