Red queue looks "normal" as well? How do you know that most of us are in the blue one?
I have started my waiting from 6500 queue position for example (in 2022)
Most (all) of the people who shared their queue number here have started from >7k queue number, so we assume that >7k is "our"
queue.
What is your situation? are you asylum seeker or have no valid passport? Or maybe your applications gets connected with other family member who applied earlier?

My situation is as regular as it can be - came to Finland with valid residence permit for work. Valid passport as well. Worked all the time.
Country is not on the list. No family members.
Go and figure :)
Applied 3 months before 4years. In November 2022. Queue was 6500 in the beginning. Now around 2700

So you are waiting like 15 months. This is quite short waiting time these days. After summer you will get a decision, I guess.

Oh, sorry, I get it now. you're also in "our" blue queue, it was probably so that in 2022 there weren't that many applications, so queue numbers in the blue queue started at 6500. For people who applied in September 2023 the queue started at 7900 and for people who apply now the queue starts at 8800.

After collecting the data for a big number of applications and putting it on a graph it becomes apparent that there are three queues.
As I pointed before (almost?) all the people writing in this forum are from the blue queue.
Indeed, each queue has it's own processing speed and processing "patterns".
I think you are probably querying all diary numbers with /310/ in the middle. How do you know that 310 is just for citizenship application ? there are also citizenship declaration and release from citizenship and their processing times are quite different. For example a Nordic citizen has 3 months processing time and that is called "citizenship declaration" not "citizenship application"

The migri website says that Declaration of Citizenship for Nordic citizens takes 3 months. In our selection of applications with \310\ in the middle there are no applications that are systematically processed in less than 4 months. And if there are still declarations of citizenship, their number is comparable to the margin of error.
Also amount of applications with /310/ in the middle is the same as reported on https://statistik.migri.fi/ for Citizenship Applications.

Yes, on the graph are applications with /310/ in the middle.

Agree, my first assumption was that those two other queues are something like "citizenship declaration", or "release from citizenship".
However, I see that processing times for those queues do not match with expected processing times for "citizenship declaration", or "release from citizenship".
Also, if I count decisions made during 2023 for only the blue line then the number does not match with the data which I get on https://statistics.migri.fi/#decisions/ ... 44&end=647. It only matches with sum of all three queues.
Based on that I think that all three queues are citizenship applications.

In my weekly reports I intentionally publish only that blue queue.

If I’m waiting since 2022, so which queue should be that (they told me that processing time is 21 months)?
And what about my queue, how does it move?

I can only tell you exactly if I know your diary number, you can send it to DM. But the queue moves exactly as the chatbot tells you, so there will not be much other information.

I am following this forum often and I'd like to share my application progress. I applied on May 20, 2022 and still in stage 1, which is over 21 months waiting :(. I sent Email to Migri and got reply that they are backloged and processing cases in earlier May, 2022. Hopefully the decsion will come soon. I keep updated.

I cannot know exactly when the application was submitted, + there are three queues, one of which moves faster than the others. I’ll analyze this more deeply tomorrow, but I can quickly give you the following information:
In 2021, about 14,000 applications were submitted; currently, 2,532 applications have not yet received a decision.
2022: ~13,400 total, 7,109 pending
2023: ~17,670 total, 13,054 pending
I applied in october 2022 and my application is still pending. i thought i was unlucky to be waiting that long. But based on the statistics, less than 50 percent of the applications have been processed, and i am sure many of those applications have already passed the 21 month processing period (all applications before may 2022). so it is obvious with this rate that they will increase the processing time soon. i am starting to really believe the theory that says if your application is not processed in 8 months or less, you will have to wait for long time

I never heard about application which crossed 22 month mark when people are from countries not on the list and came here with residence permit. You, probably, imagine this over-pessimistically. I guess migri just open applications which has deadline on 21th mnth and process them - this is how they manage long queue.

Well, 21 months is not a deadline, because there is no such a deadline in the law. And this deadline was 18 months when I contacted them in Summer 2023, then 20 month when I contacted in November 2022, so now it is 21 months. The first mention about the backlog has happened in 2021, so then Yle (https://yle.fi/a/74-20018629) has mentioned in 2023 that Migri wanted to clear the backlog in 2023, but it didn’t happen. Of course, they can tell that backlog has worsened after the new Programme, when much more people started to apply for the citizenship, but even without this increase, if you analyze the data from Migri’s statistics website, they wouldn’t be able to relieve the backlog 🥲
So, be ready for an increasing waiting time 😂

Let's not make it super-pessimistic here, if your applications goes above 21 months, please, raise a concern than, not well before that.
