Thank you for the information, very appreciated. What is the Y-axis?
Just a sequence number of an application.

Would it be possible for you to make an estimation of what is the exact sweet spot in the queue where applications move to the second stage? It seems that it is at around 5300-5400 right now but that’s only my guess.
Migri processes application not according to a queue number, but according to a sequence number.
You can see that processed applications form a line around 11421/310/2023. The 11421 number just goes up over time.
Because of that the queue range is quite wide – from 4000 to ~5600.
Hi!

Then, what is the average sequence number for 2022 applications? 😀

Thanks, and can you point me to the source of the data?

hey, been following this forum for quite a while, now it's mine turn to write about decision :)

Applied : 4.07.2023
Visited Migri Service point in Lahti: 11.07.2023
Moved to stage 2 (in progress) : 01.12.2023
Received positive decision : 26.02.2024

So 3 months in stage 2 without reason :D

Total : 8 months
congrats!! may I ask what was your queue number when they gave it to you? 6000, 7000,8000?
it was about 4700

Have anyone received a decision with a queue number around 3xxx? Or is the next period after 4xxx with high probability of getting a decision something below 2xxx?

I am getting tired of answering the same questions over and over again.
So I decided to make a post about it. I will update this post as I get more questions.
I will send a link to this post to everyone who asks me a question which is already answered here.
I will try to answer questions related to the graphs I publish and some other questions answers to which I know based on the data which I have.
I am not associated with Migri or any other Finnish government institution. I am just a person who is interested in the topic and has some data to share.
Below is only my personal opinion.

Kiitos paljon! This is appreciated.

Anyone knows what it means for the status to be "Waiting for processing"? Does it mean that Migri hasn't touched the application yet, or Migri already checked the application and decided the time of processing (within 6-7 months / longer time).

For my case, I applied in January 2023 and my status is always in the 1st step "Waiting for processing". I'm not sure if my application is already evaluated by Migri to some degrees or if Migri hasn't touched the application at all...

Below is only my personal opinion.

Overall data gathering process explanation:
0. Data is gathered from public sources. I do not have any special access to any data. I just use the same channels as everyone else.
1. I get the data from the Kamu chatbot. It is gathered once a week.
2. The data contains only queue number of an application and a "slider" showing the progress of the queue.
3. The data is gathered from the Kamu chatbot using the following application id pattern: <sequence_number>/310/<year>. For example, 123/310/2021.
4. After gathering the data it becomes obvious that there are three independent queues:
The green one is unclear for me. (enterpreneurship?)
The blue one is for the applications which are submitted based on the following grounds: work, family, studies, and other. I would consider this queue as for "general" applications.
The red one is for applications submitted by people who came to Finland under the asylum seeker/international protection status.
5. I gather data for applications submitted over the last 4 years (2021-2024)
6. Usually I only publish the data for the blue queue. Perhaps I will start publishing the data for other queues as well.
7. Axis X is queue number of an application, axis Y is a sequence number of an application.

What we currently see/know based on the data:
1. Each queue has its own progress speed.
2. The blueue queue has a place in the queue where some applications are processed before they get to the end of the queue.
At the moment of writing this FAQ the place is around 5000 in the queue or 6 months of waiting time.
I mark this place with a green horizontal line on the graph.
Note that Migri processes applications in an ascending order of an application number. Queue number has no effect on the processing order in this case.
3. As far as I know, the easy cases are processed at this place.
If you think that your case is easy, but it was not processed at this place then it is probably not as easy as you think from the Migri point of view.
Many of us have the same situation. We think that our case is easy, but Migri thinks otherwise.
4. If your application was not processed at the place where the green line is then there is a high chance that you will have to wait for a long time.
5. If talking about the blueue queue, then I think that there is no such thing as a "fast track" for the applications.
All applications which are close to each other in the queue are processed at the same speed.
But there is a chance that some applications are picked from the queue and processed before they get to the end of the queue.
6. Multiple applications may have the same queue number. I don't know why. Perhaps some internal Migri process.

Hi , thank you for information.
I know the answer to your question in number 6. If a family has applied together, for example a family of 4 (parents and two children) (both parents have applied for citizenship for their child in their application), six file numbers will be registered for this family. It is possible that they have the same queue number in Kanu chat. And all six file numbers have a queue number.

No, if you take a look deeper to the graph you will see that dots are in some kind of columns. So there is 50-100 applications with the same queue number. For example I’m in a column with 78 other people.

How did you arrive at 78 from the graph? Or is the raw data available somewhere?

I believe it means migri hasn't touched the application at all, i.e., it's sitting in the queue, waiting for processing to begin.
