@ogunkanmbi65 congratulations 🎊 🎊 🎉 🎉 🎉 🎉. A quick question, did the monthly reminder migri sends about your application change in the month that you moved to In Progress? I just received a different email than the previous months and I wonder if that's a sign. Thanks.

Can you tell us what was the reason for request of expediting the decision?
Also very curious about that! Please share :)

I don't think it was expedited, this person proved identity in October 2023 and now just time has come for people who applied in October.

I think so too. Just wanted to see what could be a reason to expedite in his/her case.
I can say what does NOT work:
My employer sent an official letter with fast processing request due to job specifics - Migri responded - this is not good enough reason.
I sent a request due to work travelling (came close to maximum allowed amount of absence but still must travel for work) - Migri responded - this is not good enough reason.

In my case my request to expedite was granted because another family member’s application for residence permit that was currently in stage 2 and the outcome depended on whether I was a citizen or not. I hired a lawyer and the lawyer submitted the request and it was approved. My family member received positive decision on residence permit the same day I received citizenship. It was expensive to hire the lawyer but worth it for helping me navigate the family member permit where the person didn’t fit migri’s very narrow definition of family.

this is so frustrating! I'm in the same situation, need to be able to travel to perform my job. That's sad that people paying taxes and wanting to contribute to business growth here are not prioritized.

Hello!
My application is in stage 2 since couple of weeks now. Applied in Oct end 2023.
Anyone know what's been generally verified in stage 2? as its taking a while? anything to worry about ? thanks in advance.

See similar thread at bottom of page 64 in 2024 category (you'll get more traction there than here):

"A friend of mine who works at Migri, told me that if a citizenship application stays in stage 2 without asking for additional information and the applicant has ( passport, valid residence permit, and his identity is checked ) then the reason for putting the application on hold could be most probably one of these reasons:

1- Migri wants to check the travel history of the applicant based on border guards data. They send a request to the border guards and they wait the response. This process could take several days or weeks. This happens usually when Migri suspects that the applicant didn’t report all his travel history.
2- Migri is waiting another clarification from third party about the applicant ( in most cases something from the applicant’s home country )"

I also proved identity on the 27.10.2023 but no decision yet. Before kamu was disactivated my queue number was around 5700. Still waiting and expected processing times keep changing from time to time. Almost getting tired of waiting when I know others have been getting decisions.

Hello guys,
Thanks for all the sharings here which constantly decrease my anxiety in the past year.

I went to the police office today to finish the last step and would like to share the footprint here.

29.5.2023 submit the application.
A series of numbers which indicate my position in the queue this year:
4391 Jan 03
4350 Jan 14
4174 Feb 20
3963 Apr 15
3865 May 13

Finally, on 18.7.2024, I got a positive decision.

I hope you guys can get through this also as soon as you wish. Good luck.

Very useful thank you!!! Just moved to stage 2 a few hours ago after almost 2 years in stage 1. My A permit lasts until July 2025. All my travels should follow the rule! I'm soooo nervous  gotta go stalk here on our forum!
