Applying for citizenship while PR is being proessed

Hi guys, I have a strange situation.
I have applied for PR a few months ago and still it is being processed. Now, I have cleared the YKI test, which means that I am eligible for the citizenship. So, what would happen if I applied for the passport, simultaneously?

Has anyone been in this situation? I will surely lose the fees I paid for PR but would it affect processing of the passport application?

Having simultaneous PR and citizenship applications is common. It’s often a required step:

“ You must extend your residence permit. The expiry of a residence permit is not a sufficient reason to expedite a citizenship application. ”

This is not a problem. You can apply for the citizenship as well.
