I wonder what December-January means. Does it mean 'applied in December and visited a Migri service point in January'? 🙂

Yes; quite many October and November decisions.
No December decisions that I know of though.

If someone heard something from December - Please share!
Someone wrote this on Facebook group today
“ It might be useful for someone is waiting citizenship decision. I applied in December-January/2024. It was at stage 1 in 8 months. The application was processed today and i got decision one hour after the second stage. My friend also got decision in about 8 months.”

Not me, I applied end of december, received diary number first week of Jan, still stage 1
Which Facebook group is that?

MY time has come, finally. Almost 24 months to the day of proving my identity at migri. My application went into processing around mid-July, when I was abroad (I'd notified migri beforehand about my trip). On returning I uploaded a copy of my boarding pass to confirm that I was back in Finland. The following day (August 1) I received a request for additional information regarding my self-employment. I supplied the requested information a week later, only to receive another request for information concerning one of the documents. Responded the following day and received my positive decision this morning.

Some stats for the record (I came to Finland with a national passport and a residence permit on the basis of family ties):

Applied online: August 4, 2022
Visited migri: August 16, 2022
Initial queue number: 5565 (16.11.2022; first time I checked.)
Last queue number: 1602 (17.05.2024; kamu was offline after that)
Processing started: July 19, 2024 (at 23-month mark, the outer limit according to the online application tool)
First request for additional information: August 1, 2024
Second request for additional information: August 8, 2024
Decision: August 12, 2024

Like many before me, I am glad that this process is over. This forum has been an incredible source of information, and I've been happy to contribute when I could. The citizenship application process has gone through a lot of change in the past couple of years. Who would have guessed in 2022 that there'd be an automated decision-making process in place just two years later?

So, my citizenship journey--the application part at least--is over. To everyone from 2022 (2021?) who is still waiting, I have my fingers crossed for you and look forward to congratulating you when your time comes.
I am from September 2022 and congratulations on your positive decision , i am also self employed . If you do not mind can you please tell me what documents they asked in supplement requests ?
Thanks! I'm happy it's over😂😂😂

I was asked to provide profit & loss statements (tuloslaskelma) and balance sheets (tase) for select periods, in addition to extracts from my business account showing personal deposits and personal withdrawals. My bookkeeping is contracted out, so getting the info was not that difficult (I downloaded the profit & loss statements and balance sheets myself). The accountant had to provide a signed statement re my personal deposits and withdrawals.

I have my fingers crossed for you that your turn is just around the corner. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions along the way.

Yes. She/he mentioned that the Visit to Migri was at the end of December right before Christmas, so most likely got the Diary Number in January.
Also, during the conversation someone mentioned that the processing of application is based on when the application is submitted online as opposed to date of migri visit (personally, I don't know if it's a fact or not)
