Applying for Citizenship 2024

I am a December applicant / service point visitor from beginning-middle of the month.
Just received positive decision.

It seems many applicants from around the time I applied had received their decision in close order. So, there is at least some kind of system. Other information shared here suggests strong evidence that the multiple queue theory is accurate.

Perhaps the "system" in 2022 is different from 2023, just as there are now differences in the 2024 system compared to 2023. Though, familiarizing myself with what was said also in the 2022 thread was very helpful too. I suggest new applicants do the same.

I can say that the information shared here really helped me track and guesstimate when I would receive a decision with reasonable accuracy. Big thanks to you all for that! And best wishes to those still waiting.

It went to into processing last week Thursday and two days ago supplementary was asked which I replied yesterday.

Hello everyone,

I hope you all have a great weekend and congratulations to ones got positive decisions. I have a questions regarding changes after the application. About 4 months since the application, my friend got a petty fines due to committing a minor offence. "Han" got the fine and paid already and thought that the profile will be seen from Migri then didn't update anything to Migri ("Han" was very upset, regretful and lost hope of getting positive decision).

I thought that the chance of getting positive decision is very tiny but just told "Han" to provide the notification to Migri. I suggested "Han" to prepare a form informing what happened and what changes compared to the information provided in the application form. Can you please give advice on this?

Thank you so much for your reply. I would like to ask should my friend inform Migri about this change? As until the application, no any crime committed but just after the application.

I advised my friend to inform Migri asap but I suppose Migri can see on police system already but still better to inform Migri for consistent information.

Today i got Finnish citizenship after waiting for 8 months and 23 days. Moved to Finland back in 2015 as a student and started working 2016, worked in academia for couple of years and working in industry since 2019. I am originally from a South Asian country. I already had PR since October 2022.

Application date: 4th December 2023
Received Diary Number: 8th December 2023
Application went in progress: 26th August 2024
Decision Received: 26th August 2024 (within 20 minutes of the application went in progress)

August 25, 2024: Application moved to stage 2, then after about an hour I got the positive decision.

I came to Finland in January 2019 with a work permit. I was a Philippine citizen. Worked full-time ever since, single, no dependents.
