I think they are estimating the amount of time to process based on the queue. I sent an email with my diary number and they replied that the expected processing time is 10 months.
It may also depend on who responds on the other side from Migri.

One of my friend have been informed that his application will be processed in 24 months months. He submitted the application in October 2023. He asked the migri by calling. What does it mean actually? does it mean that the decision might come after 24 months or anytime in next 14 months?

I applied same October 2023, when I called I was told it will be 31 one months, I thought it wasn't serious until I visited to attach my son's application and asked again and was told same 31 months

This is disappointing actually. When my friend visited migri during the end of october 2023, they said that it will take 6 to 20 months to process the application but now they are saying 24 months. I do not know why they are doing this with many applicants. Such things brings discrimination among applicants unnecessarily.

Nothing yet and I am an applicant from December 11th as well. Hoping for the best and keeping fingers crossed.

My best guess and also as discussed earlier in the forum, reasons such as new student RPs and possibly re-allocating resources etc. Also, I do believe that since there are always a large number of Citizenship Applications to process, and not everyone is on the Socials or this forum. So we most likely don't hear about a good % of processed applications.

A lot of 2022 applicants got decision last month. Not sure who exactly you mean. You might want to back read.

I also applied for citizenship in August of the 22nd year.
I applied in February 2022 and still waiting. Application is in progressing state almost two months

I got my citizenship last week - received diary number 8.12.2023 and decision was there on 26.8.2024. I was also worried since quite a few people who applied on the same date got their decision a week earlier. I suspect that there are quite many applications from December, hopefully you get your decision in the upcoming week.
