Advice (Moving out of apartment)
Advice (Moving out of apartment)
Hello,
I'm looking for advice or previous experience to handle the current issue I have. So, we moved out from an apartment (not the first time) and we did our best to clean it and to our judgement things were in a good shape. Then, suddenly I receive an email from the landlord saying he will deduct 400 euros (more than half of the deposit) saying that the new tenants ordered a cleaning for the apartment (in our previous moves this did not happen and the landlords were happy about how we cared for their apartments).
I admit that we should've asked him to come before vacating but in our previous moves the landlord does this automatically.
Do you think what happened is reasonable? What can I do to convince him that even if the apartment is not very clean, 400 euros is too much?
Thanks!

Use you can use the Consumer Advisory Services and, if needed, Consumer Disputes Board.Chaouki wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 9:06 pmHello,

Thank for the link. I will give it a try though the landlord is private.

You can also give vuokralaiset a call. They are very helpful for determining your rights as a tenant. You should have your lease handy to save time since it’s not a free call. I have used them several times for disputes myself when I had a landlord issue.

Good luck!

I will call them, hopefully they will be willing to talk to me in English.

One last question on this. The contract was done via a rental agency (kinnestahkola). Do you think it would be wise to discuss the matter with them?
