I have received this request for supplementary information from migri for my permanent residence application. I have a Finnish aliens passport based on special reasons. They are asking for a national passport. This is due to a new aliens act that requires all foreigners to have a national passport to apply for residence permit (from Sep 1, 2024).
I have actually given in my national passport to migri in order to obtain the aliens passport from them. Now I am unsure how to respond to their request. Should I get a national passport again and present it to them? Or does this explanation suffice that they actually have my old national passport in migri?
Does anyone have any experience with this new act?

If the national passport is still valid, they should be able to use it.
