Migri’s online calculator now shows that my application has 31 months as a maximum processing time.

Are there now 3 queues? 1) 9-10 months, 2) 25 months and 3) 31 months? or is it so that the 25 month queue has been extended to 31 months?

Hi, today I was served with a positive decision. Non-EU citizen. Application no: 25XX
2017 Came to Finland based on studies
2022 Changed my permit to A on grounds of work
23/03/24 Applied for citizenship
03/01/25 Application went into processing
07/01/25 Citizenship granted.

The odd thing here was that a couple of months ago, I contacted migri to ask about the expected processing time for my application, to which they replied (on two separate occasions) 25 months. So I suppose if migri has told you the same, there might still be hope for your application. Thanks to this group and all of your inputs which has helped me throughout this process. Hope everyone is granted positive decisions soon.

congrats, i hope i receive it soon too, my processing began on 30th dec, asked for suplementary info, submitted it last week and have been waiting since then. tbh its very frustrating

Hello! Any updates on March/April applications? I applied beginning of April 2024 but haven't heard anything neither my application went to stage 2?

Based on all the comments here and there, calling Migir will it make a difference?

I applied on March 18, 2024, and received my diary number the next day.
The processing officially started on December 21, but I had travel plans until January 6, so I immediately notified them to pause the processing.
The waiting was very frustrating, so I completely understand everyone's feelings during this process. I wish you all relief and positive news very soon!

Can you move to work in a different country after applying for Finnish citizenship?

I will complete 5 years this April; I have passed YKI reading and speaking. I am not able to find a job in Finland. Can I move to my home country but give my friend's house as a permanent address (he is fine with it)?

No, you can’t, it interrupts your continuous residence which is one of the requirements.
Besides, and I can’t believe I have to write this, providing false informations in your application is fraud. Apply only when you have all requirements to do so.
