Hei,
I applied for my citizenship last night and I was told that my application is waiting for processing and I don't need to visit the service point. I want to know if someone else has had this before and how long it takes to get a diary number. (Edit:just got my diary number)

The second thing is that I applied my citizenship with an Ammattitutkinto 150 osp completed in Finnish and I wanted to go to migri for interview and talk to them in Finnish and show my Finnish language skills but it does not seem possible now. I want to know does it matter and will migri reach out to my teacher to ask him about my finnish langauge skills or will they just check online for verification if I my degree is real. The problem with the degree is that the courses shown in the transcript only have either passed or fail as a grade rather than 1 to 5 to show how good my skills are. I asked for my supervisor for a hand written certificate to state that I finished the entire degree in Finnish and to grade my Finnish language skill and he wrote me the certificate, Can anyone guide me if its a good idea to attach this certificate as a supplement to my application right now or no?

The third thing I want to know is that what are the chances that if the applicant does not need to visit the service point, that his application will be placed in the automation queue? Does anyone have any info about this?

Hi

I am in same situation as you are

Yesterday I applied finnish citizenship application. 5 years 7 months in Finland. Married to A finn (native) had A permit now P. Non -EU.

Instead of doing YKI test, I used my amattitutkinto certificate :

Puhtaus- ja kiinteistöpalvelualan ammattitutkinto, 150 osp Toimitilahuollon osaamisala toimitilahuoltaja (AT)

It was oppisopimus.

Some people says 150 osp not enough need 180 osp. I might loose 550€ 😬

I have next monday identification check at migri. Applied in enterfinland.

What is your ammattitutkinto?

Thank you.

It’s very important to ask migri questions first before applying. Take your time to do things right before application it will help your application.

Hi, I don't know about point systems in ammattitutkinto, but if it's not enough they would not reject your application immediately, rather they'd tell you to take Yki for instance. You have to fulfill this requirement when they make a decision on your application, not necessarily when you apply.

Hei,
I have many friends who got their citizenship on the same degree as me, My degree is yrittäjyyden ammattitutkinto from Sedu. I attached the hand written certificate from my degree supervisor as proof of my langauge in case they want to verify my language skills. Now I am just waiting for my application to go into processing. Hoping for the best. I did some research online and the law for ammattitutkinto says the following "Ammattitutkintojen laajuus on 120, 150 tai 180 osaamispistettä." The law number is L 531/2017, A 673/2017. You can google it. Migri also specifically states this law on their language requirements page in the Vocational Training section. The 180osp requirement is for Perustutkinto and it can not be less than that. Also migri might contact your teacher if they suspect that a major part of your studies were practical studies with an internship and did not require you to communicate in english or the langauge of instructions and commucation between you and your teachers was done in english rather than finnish. This thing solely depends on the previous applicant who used the same degree to apply for citizenship. Good Luck
