ID card validity period

ID card validity period

I got an automated message from DVV saying that "The validity time of your ID card the the citizen certificate on its chip will expire in two months.. You can apply for a new card online using Police e-service ...". Thing is, my ID card shows that it is valid till mid-2027 and when I checked in the Poliisi e-asionti, it shows the same validity. What gives? I am a Finnish citizen but my vakituinen osoite is outside Finland since a few months ago.

Turns out it was due to my already cancelled, foreign-citizen ID card expiring. Their automated messaging system has a bug in it.
