FELT IF 2004: CALL FOR ONE-ACT PLAYS IN ENGLISH
FELT IF 2004 will be the second Festival of English Language Theatre in Finland, organized by the Finn-Brit Players in Helsinki. It is tentatively slated for a weekend in early November 2004 and will be a one-day extravaganza of performance held at a Helsinki venue (we are looking at a number of small venues in the central area). Here’s your chance to get involved, perform your favourite one-act, workshop an original piece, and make contacts for your next project.
*CRITERIA:
- *All performances must be in English
- No excerpted scenes or monologues – it must be a self-contained story;
however, a one-person play is certainly allowed
- Minimum length is 10 minutes; maximum is 50 minutes
- You are responsible for getting legal rights to perform the script;
original works are very welcome!
- Amateur and non-amateur performances are welcome; however, all
performances are unpaid
*MORE INFO:
- *We will probably have very limited possibilities for set pieces, but
will provide the basics (chairs, table). Aim for stripping down to the
bare elements of theatre - work with the limitations of the space, not
against them!
- */Participation fee for all groups: €15/*/ (to help cover rental costs
and possible workshops for participants)
- /Some technical help may be available (lighting/sound); ask us
- If you are in need of actors/directors/scripts, let us know – we’ll
try to help hook people up
- Apply for a spot in the festival by sending the name of your group,
the title of your piece (if available), approximate running length (if
available), and your contact details to johanna@finnbritplayers.com
<mailto:johanna@finnbritplayers.com> by *June 1, 2004
- *The participation fee and final details of your show will be due in
September
- In the event that we have too many submissions for the time allotted,
shows will be selected by a lottery

I'm just a messenger here so I can't really answer too many questions. If there would be enough enthusiastic .'ers to put up something I'm willing to be the 3rd goon from the left
Anyhow, if you have been bitten by the theatre bug at some point and time, the Fin-Brit players http://www.finnbritplayers.com is a welcoming group and they do a lot of stuff - poetry recitals, playreadings etc. etc. besides theatre productions (and they always need backstage staff as well.)
