You'd think Shrek would spend a bit more than that
"Woodgate cash flush" Newcastle United have put a bid in now. Is it really beyond the realms of possibility the lad may stick it out at Everton?
They are the 6th most succesful English club after all

Not likely to go to Old Trafford..
"Manchester United chief executive David Gill said on Monday that making an immediate move for Rooney would be bad for business.
Gill said: "We could go out tomorrow and borrow the money to buy Wayne Rooney for £30-40m but it is bad business to end up with long-term debt for a short-term asset such as a player."

There are some interesting comments on the BB link from this BBc article.
e.g. A swap plus cash deal involving Dyer.

Gill lives in a world of Balance sheets
We wont spend more than £25 mil on a player with him as chief exec. I dont know whether thats good or bad
We need a young "engine room" style central midfielder, a young "creative" left winger and a "brick sh1thouse" centre half more than we need Shrek anyway
Samuel/Nesta
Nedved/Viera/Gerrard
Duff/Robben
would be nice
