enjoyed reading about the prof, but as you are American I am sure you would not realise that he looks just like a character from Bristish tv.The Royal family dad in fact. His catchphrase on tv is " my arse " very nice use of the English language.... This show also came to Finnish tv but I can´t remember the translation. Could this also be a reason that he left the UK?????

PS: That last chap, the English Philology professor really does look like the dad from the Royal family! Surely a candidate for that twins bit in Nyt magazine every Friday!

I'm not sure about similar programs in other parts of Finland. I know there are expat/foreigners' clubs elsewhere, but projects sponsored by ESR (European Social Rahasto/fund) I don't know. Others on this forum would be in a better position to answer. Oulu's EFA project got started mainly as a way to reach out to trailing spouses who were experiencing intense culture shock upon moving to Oulu, but it has also branched out to support exchange students and foreign spouses of Finnish citizens.
