CANCELLED: Oulunites: St. George's Day

Post by alloydog » Mon Mar 14, 2005 11:46 am

We have had some water damage to our house, which will take two to three weeks to dry out and fix.

Sorry folks!

...would this be an evening or day thing? I'm wondering how to get there..... Maybe us "townies" could organise something in the way of transport together?
Hmm St Andrews Day. Never celebrated it before, but I suppose expats are meant to get all dewy eyed and nostalgic about things they never cared about before.

Just a note, Liminka is 30km south of Oulu. You can get there on the Nr. 70 bus. Also, I could probably pick a few people up (in one trip), but not sure if I could drive later on .... :D

Caroline - We expect no less, plus you'll be committed to holding a July the 4th bash, to which I will wear my redcoat!

Oh yeah, please let us know by about the 1st weekend of April, so we know what munchies to stock up on. If you have any dietry issues, like lactose/gluten intolerence, a veggie, or whatever, I'm sure the missus can concoct something appropriate.

Sorry to hear about the damage :( Hope the repairs go along smoothly!

Well, in that case, we should definitely do a restaurant get-together, i.e. Laura's suggestion for Amarillos on the 16th. Is that date suitable for everyone? If so we'll ask about a reservation. Please R.S.V.P. here if you plan to attend.
