History of Finland - Public Lecture Series


Finland from Prehistory to Present
Jason Lavery, Ph.D.

Monday - Thursday 17:15 - 20:00

Unioninkatu 2, room 217, 2nd floor

This series of lectures will examine questions in Finnish history from prehistory to the present. The emphasis will be placed on the period after 1809. The approach to the course will be thematic, chronological, and focused on the major questions concerning the country’s past. This course is designed to benefit both Finns as well as foreigners who have no previous knowledge of Finnish history.

No, there's no need to make any reservations, just show up in the room, preferably at the first lecture. Unless, of course, you're a student and want to collect the one credit - in which case you should talk with Jason at the first lecture and perhaps register through the usual system....

I would love to go but I have to drive to Tampere at 16:00 so chances of being back in time for the start are shall we say slim. I'll be there tomorrow though :D
