Looking for cheap baby stuff!
Looking for cheap baby stuff!
Hi
If anyone has any baby stuff for sale then I am really interested!
Primarily I am after nursery furniture like a changing table, baby bath, newborn clothes, pushchair/stroller, pram, cot bedding, pram bedding, washable nappies and anything else that might be up for sale!
If you fancy making a few bucks, well euros really whilst clearing some space in your home and doing me a huge favour then get in touch.
I live just outside of Oulu, transportation can be a problem but I might be able to get round that one but any offers of help will be greatly rewarded!

The time has come, the walrus said to talk of many things....
Sorry!
It's always the way...you always think of something else afterwards!
I am also after a highchair, bouncy seat, car seat, baby toys, mobiles, carry papoose/baby sling, travel cot, change bag, change mat and a bottle steriliser.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Sorry, we still need all our stuff.
Have you tried ebay?
nappywise...have a look at http://www.thenappylady.co.uk they have a 'for sale' board.
Also, bear in mind that as soon as the baby arrives you'll be inundated with gifts. You could set up a list of things you'd like on say John Lewis' website or mothercare's.
Hannah and Sophie (21 weeks old)
PS some of the stuff on your list you wont need for ages. If breast feeding you wont need the steriliser and bottles (though they can come in handy). A high chair can wait. go for either a sling or a push chair to begin with. for the first few weeks we never used the pushchair as we had the sling. dont buy a second hand car seat...to save on some money buy one that can be rear and forward facing (britax make one), it can then be used for longer by the child. we hardly use our bouncy chair, we have a padded babymat/gym instead. the bouncy chair is used mainly by the cat (hence it is now broken).
Use your KELA stuff, it is an excellent package and you can use the box as a cot for the first few months. You'll get all the bedding for the cot in that.
Sophie had no interest in toys until she was about 3 months, most of her toys were pressies. she just used to lie under her gym.
we have never had a changing table...waste of money IMHO, we just put the mat on the washing machine, great height!
Changing bags, waste of money, very expensive, just use a rucksack or similar.
mobiles...have one...dont use it, it keeps her awake rather than sending her to sleep!
Definitely buy a gro-bag http://www.gro-group.co.uk/brands/grobag/
they cant kick them off and therefore get cold in the night.
sorry for rambling and the typos, have Sophie 'helping'!

I am not being rude or anything about the suggestions so far but you do need to understand that I live in the middle of nowhere (literally), we do not have nurserys etc here in the village, I live 60km from the nearest town, I don't speak the language at all and I have no transport!
This is why I am appealing to this board for some friendly help. My husband works abroad for most of the year and it is just me and my son here.
So here's hoping for some bargains etc, looking forward to hearing from you.

Moose are not a problem here, you just don't see any.
I think you will find that it was Mosquitos that were meant! We live by a river so there are literally thousands.
Anyway aren't we getting off topic here?
I am still looking for baby gear...so please help!

They have been all over the ground here as well (house is by lake) but I need to give one of these a try: http://www.agrimarket.fi/main.cfm?iA=3634
If I were you I would try sending a message in English on one of the Finnish baby forums:
http://www.kaksplus.fi/kirpputori/
You're more likely to find the type of people who are selling stuff second hand in your area as Finland is full of Finns not foreigners which means your chances of finding second hand stuff in your area will be greatly increased.
In addition, I would get on a bus, go into Oulu and do a bit of hands-on research by visiting baby shops, daycare centres (leaving messages) and finding out about kirppis (fleamarkets).
Finally, you said once your husband works in Ireland? Get him to bring the smaller (lighter) things from there. You could also help him source the items by scouring local free-ads websites and providing him with the contact details. You could even use eBay UK and have the stuff mailed to him there relatively inexpensively. He could then bring it to Finland for you on his next visit.
Hope this helps.
