Heipsä folks!
This is a heads-up about a theatre performance, opening next Friday, August 5th, at Teatteri Naamio ja Höyhen. The piece is called Ofeliakone (Opheliamachine), and it's mostly in English with a bit of Finnish in it. Actually, it's mostly in silent, but we're still in the process of removing text, so I can't say exactly how much of each language will be involved, but even if you don't speak any Finnish at all, it should be accessible.
For more info and pictures, go to http://www.nh.fi (the Ofeliakone website is in English and Finnish). Or just read the info at the end of this post. The play runs until mid-October, but the space is quite pieni, so it's a good idea to book in advance.
Enjoy the sunshine eh!

Ofeliakone / Opheliamachine
Teatteri Naamio ja Höyhen and The Laboratorium of the Tragic Space
A visually fascinating, silent tragedy is born. Out of a succession of female tragic characters, from Euripides' Medea to Heiner Müller's Ophelia, Ofeliakone (Opheliamachine) is created to bridge the gap between the chilling emptiness of postmodernism and the animate soul of the ancient Greek chorus.
Led by Italian-Swiss physical theatre artist Davide Giovanzana, actors from Naamio ja Höyhen and The Laboratorium of the Tragic Space are building a performance about denial, refusal, the destruction of the self, and the destruction of the world. All of this mostly in silence: the body is the means of expression for every idea, whether concrete or abstract.
When the protagonist is not locked into one body and voice, the tragedy becomes like a state of expression, as gestures and movement unlock emotions and thoughts that are different for every spectator.
