well I can drive over and bring couple of people with me downtown HKI. Since I'm driving, I wouldn't be drinking and not needing a place for the night.

Sure, the minute I leave the country, y'all planning
the TM night ;)

But hey, it's 31C here and I got a pool in the back
yard and the beach a couple of blocks away. My
family will be coming for a party tomorrow. And I'm
in a decent part of the US where they have grits ;)

when you guys decide on a date, let me know
as I'll prolly have to find a babysitter (and if possible,
I'll hitch a ride with you, MC, since I'll have to make
it back that night then, too)

enk, you're in the states now? you lucky biaaatch 8) . I was plannin' to take the little one for her 1st b-day & stay there the whole winter, but things came up & I had to cancel  . If you find time, could you bring her back a little article of clothing or sumthin' that says Chicago on it? or Chi-town girl, etc... I'll reimburse you of course :D

I want in on the tex mex night :) . Mexican food is my specialty. I had a Mexican babysitter for part of my childhood and I learned how to make a LOT of good food from her :D. I'll need a babysitter for my daughter of course, but that should be no prob. That is if anyone even wants me there LOL

Well as I wrote to someone else:

Lovely flight today from Florida to Chicago: we hit turbulence
already before we left Tampa and my middle son barfed on himself
and his brother, who then barfed on himself and back on his
brother five minutes into the flight. Got that cleaned up and they
sat wrapped up in blankets for the rest of their flight with nothing
else on but their skivvies. Then we land in Chicago using only the
lefthand tires, followed by the righthand tires touching down a good
10 minutes afterwards with lovely hard braking and skidding around
on the tarmac. Can't wait for that flight to Helsinki through Heathrow
on Friday.

Beyond that though it was amazing to see how much the island
I spent all my summers and some of my childhood on had changed
(yuppie hell). Fortunately we were on the next island over which was
beautiful and we saw a ton of family. The 6-year-old learned to swim
in both pools and the Gulf. I never realized how isolated I am in
Finland with the kids since I ended up having to explain to them that
the people coming over to the rental house were our relatives
since they kept referring to them as friends. Well, they're friends, too :)

BTW I have some Chi-clothes at my place in Espoo that I've been
meaning to give you since they're too small for the boys. Good old
Bears stuff and some Blackhawks, too, if I remember correctly. :D
And I'll keep an eye out for stuff for your little one, too, since Tony
has already demanded a Blackhawks jersey, so I'll be looking around
anywho ;)

Are you planning on making a smaller trip at least? It'd do you both
good :)

Of course I knew that I'd have to make something, which is why I added that story about learning how to cook authentic mexican food . I could make any number of things, but I think I'd bring an Enchilada Bake, which is kinda like a Mexican lasagne (nothing like an Italian lasagne though) and also some Pico de Gallo, which is kind of like a fresh salsa, but much better than that store bought crap.

@enk, wow, what a flight!!!!!! You're a strong woman , Sounds like a wonderful trip otherwise though. My next plan is to try and go next summer (I told you about her grandpas in Orlando, right? LOL)

Anyway, next time we meet I'll let you know why I couldn't go this time 'round. & thanx a ton for Da Bears & Blackhawks stuff :D . Get in touch when you're back & over the jetlag.

Karen, I wish I was calirvoyant!!!
I gave a list of dates and my calendar is also filling up pretty quickly..
We have the following..so lets take a poll:
----------------------------------
Raam: OK dates:
Nov 17, 18, 24, 25,
Dec 1,2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16
Tentative : Nov 4, 11
-----------------------------------
So first priority is to set on a date..then
we will worry about time and who makes what..
and If people are really really nice to me, then I can even pick upto 4 adults and 2 kids!! and drop them back ( upto HEL/ESP) provided I have my van full both ways..

Sundays are generally bad for me. November is better than December, but early December is still doable.
