Selanne is amazing!

Are you in Finland? Are you native? Hook me up with some more of those commericals! By the way, if you know of any with Paavo in them, I really want to see this guy. I'm told he looks just like Teemu.
Ah, it just doesn't get any better than that.
Mighty Ducks and Coyotes play here in Phoenix two times next month and I am set to check Mr. Selanne out on the ice for practice.
Thanks again and keep anything Teemu coming my way!

Yes, I'm native in Finland. I could not find those chips TV commercials on the net (I remember some).
What if Paavo just want's to be a quiet school teacher at Espoo? I mean, it's quite possible he does't want attention?
Say hello to Teemu's pal Teppo Numminen in Coyotes.
I'm not saying that he doesn't want to be a quiet school teacher in Espoo. I'm just saying that I would like to see what this guy looks like. That's it. Nothing more. Two Teemus (I mean in terms of looks, of course)? Works for me.
By the by, Teppo is with the Buffalo Sabres in New York now. The Yotes haven't had him for quite some time.
Take it easy!

Oh I'm so glad I found this! :) I am very new at this, apologies if I mess somthing up. But I just love Selanne! He is one of my favouite players, and also I like Sami Salo and Jarkko Ruutu. I wanted Team Finland to win
so badly in the Olympics, even more than my team. I just love hockey :)
If anyone would like to talk, I'd love to. I'm very new here, so it would be nice to chat with someone. Well I wont make this any longer for you, but thanks to the person who posted those commercials!

I'm glad I found this!
Selanne is an awesome hockey player, although I hate the team that he's on so I don't usually cheer for him. I'm a huge hockey fan, especially the NHL. I love watching the Finns play, they're all so exciting! Selanne, Koivu and Kipprusoff are my favourites, although I do like pretty much all of them. I always cheer for Finland (after Canada of course) at international hockey tournaments, and I was so happy to see them make it to the Olympic gold medal game, although I was glad that Sweden won, since Mats Sundin and Mikael Tellqvist are my favourite players.
In summary...Selanne's amazing!

I dont like the Ducks either especially now that they eliminated Calgary but I still like Selanne and will cheer for him agaisnt Colorado. I like watching the Finns too they are the best! I cheered for them in the Olympics, it was really cool they made it that far. But I definitely didnt want Sweden to win.. Are you watching the World Championships?

So far I've just been looking at the scores because the games are on during the day here, and I have to go to school
. Well, the Ducks have now officially eliminated Colorado...I'm happy for Selanne, but sad for Sakic and Theodore. I like the Avs!
Last I heard Finland was undefeated at the World Championships, is that still true? That's awesome how such a small country is now one of the international hockey superpowers, right up there with Canada and Russia. I'll cheer for Selanne if the Ducks end up playing the Sharks, but I can't bring myself to cheer for him if the Oilers win their series against San Jose.

I havent been watching them as much as Id like either. Im pretty sure the Finns are still undeafted but I dont know when their next game is. Yeah its really cool theyre dong so well, but a little scary when the time comes to play Canada lol. Actually itd be nice to see them get gold. How do you think Canada will do agaisnt the Czechs? Will you be able to watch the game?
I feel bad for Sakic too, hes always been one of my favs. But I agree with you, I'll cheer for Selanne if he plays the Sharks but theres no way Im cheering agaisnt Edmonton. Thatd be so cool if they made it. Did you hear about all the stabbings after their game? That sounded pretty bad, but I dont think there were any deaths. That was a little shocking.. so was the Latvia-Canada game, did you see it?

I haven't seen any of the World Championship games yet, but I definitely heard about the Canada-Latvia one. That's crazy how the score ended up, considering Canada's scoring woes in the Olympics. The Latvian fans were angry because they felt the reffing was questionable, but I saw some highlights, and those refs had no choice but to call the penalties.
I think Canada has a good chance of beating the Czechs, since they don't have Vokoun or Hasek in goal. They really don't have many NHLers on their team, and no real NHL superstars. This Canadian team is clicking a lot more than the Olympic team, and they seem to be doing rather well now that Pat Quinn isn't coaching (I'm a Leafs fan...can you tell? lol). I predict that Russia's going to win this tournament, but I can see Canada and Finland and maybe even the U.S.A (hopefully not!) having a chance at winning too.
No, I didn't hear about the stabbings! Were they in Edmonton? That's awful. Edmonton's the only Canadian team left in it now (Ottawa was eliminated tonight), so I'm cheering them through the rest of the way. Hopefully they can be the Cinderella team of these playoffs, because I do NOT want to see the Cup go back to the Southern States again! Having to see it go to Tampa Bay instead of coming back to Canada where it belongs last season was painful enough.

I've never seen anything like that game, they were throwing garbage and coins on the ice. I'm sure it didnt help that most of them were drunk but I mean cmon Latvia, did you really expect to win..? The fans made complete fools of themselves if the refs were fair or not, I felt sorry for some of their players. They kept saying the refs were fair and that the team wasnt disciplined enough but it did get hard to watch when the ref kept calling them even when they were down by 9 or 10.
I thought we had a good chance to, for the same reasons.. but I dont know what happened. 6-4 was it? I stoppped watching lol. It doesnt look good for tomorrow. I heard Finland didnt play that great their last game either, but they still won. Hopefully we can get our act together, but I gotta say, its almost tempting to cheer for Finland. You think Russia? You could be right. Dont say the US has a chance haha.
Yeah I think that happened in Edmonton. So you dont like Pat Quinn lol? I heard Vancouver might get him. I havent been keeping up though maybe they already found someone else. Oh please dont mention Tampa Bay, dont bring back those memories lol... Oh the pain..

Well...Quinn was supposed to coach the perfect, strongest Canadian team ever to a second straight Olympic gold medal, and that sure didn't happen. He couldn't even seem to get the Leafs into the playoffs...but he's gone now. I heard that Vancouver was interested in him, but I don't think he'll go back since that was the place he was at before he came to Toronto, was it not? I could see him going to Phoenix, since Gretzky has hinted about stepping down as head coach.
Yeah, Russia probably has the best chance. They have the offensive firepower for it, but who knows. Finland still has a surprisingly good chance of getting it too. I'm rather disappointed that Canada lost to the Czech Republic, of all countries. I can never bring myself to like the Czechs. I didn't see the game, but I heard that Auld was pretty shaky, which is surprising. Maybe this means we'll be seeing Denis for the rest of the way in goal?
I'm almost embarrassed for Canada...I mean, I like knowing that they can score, and they really couldn't do anything but score because of all the powerplays they were getting, but running up the score THAT much is never good. It just angers the Latvian fans, and puts a bit of a tarnish on Canada's reputation at the World Championships. Oh well, a win with that big of a score is still better than a loss!
Ugh, Tampa Bay. Are you a Flames fan? That disputed goal of Calgary's in game 6 that would've won them the Cup still haunts me. It went over the line!! The Stanley Cup does NOT belong anywhere that ice does not occur naturally. Therefore, it should go to Edmonton or Buffalo this year
! Hopefully Edmonton though.

Very nicely said!riderpride wrote: The Stanley Cup does NOT belong anywhere that ice does not occur naturally.

Island so I'm a Canucks fan..atleast I try my hardest to be. Im kind of
hoping Quinn doesnt come here, I cant see it doing us any good but we
could use almost anything right now. Everyones worried about losing Bertuzzi but its not worrying me so much anymore. I think we could use
the change. But honestly I just wish Bertuzzi would start playing like he was 2-3 years ago.
I havent watched Russia play at all. They said the same about the Finns,
and it ended up 4-2 today, I didnt get to watch the whole thing though.
But they also said they were weak in defense. Nittymaki was injured somehow, I never did find out what happened. And you were right, Denis
was in goal. I thought he played well, but so did the team. So who do we play next? Are we still waiting on the Czech-US game or has that
happened? lol Its been so busy at work I havent been able to watch everything. They have their priorities all messed up, for some reason my
boss thinks work comes before hockey, I disagree haha. I know Russia
and Sweden tied 3-3. So good luck to Finland which ever one they have to play!
(Sorry if this sends more than once, my computer is being very stupid today)

Ah, you're a 'Nucks fan? That's cool. No, you don't want Quinn going there, believe me. The whole new NHL thing really isn't suited to Quinn's coaching style, and he'll probably just end up doing a worse job than Crawford in Vancouver. Yeah, Bertuzzi really lost his edge after the whole Steve Moore incident. I'm not one of the people who's still mad at Bertuzzi about it--I think it was just an unfortunate freak thing. Bertuzzi really needs a change of scenery...he'll probably end up with one of the southern teams.
Sadly enough, I haven't watched any WC games yet
. But I've been checking the scores, and was glad to see that Canada beat Finland, since they needed that win to guarantee their spot in the quarter finals. Best of luck to Finland the rest of the way! I only cheer against the Finns when they're playing Canada.
Really, Russia tied Sweden? Odd, since Sweden doesn't have an NHL goaltender on their roster (with Tellqvist and Lundqvist both out). You'd think that Russia's dynamite offense would demolish the Swedes pretty quickly. Oh well, good job Sweden!
Tell your boss that nothing is more important than hockey, and if he thinks otherwise, to get out of Canada
