Selanne is amazing!

Post by Ice_Addict » Mon Feb 27, 2006 7:36 pm

I play hockey here in Phoenix and the women on my team all have their favorite player. Mine, of course is Teemu. I love this guy! I was hoping that someone could enlighten me about his brother, Paavo. I heard that he played hockey for awhile but that he's a teacher now. Does he teach in Finland?

It just seems odd that twins that were so close split in such completely different directions. I know Teemu was a teacher for a time as well, but if his brother had the skills, why wouldn't he have pursued hockey?

I would love to meet Teemu someday. He's my absolute favorite hockey player, he's kind, generous and, from a female's perspective, the guy is hot, what can I say?

Good to know that I'm not the only one that thinks he's just a great hockey player! Ouch! :D

Well, AFAIK they were both playing, Paavo IIRC was a goalie. Some time after the junior years was the time of making a decision - concentrate on getting an education and a "real job" career or concentrating all efforts on ice hockey and missing your education taking the chances of making a career. Sort of choosing between the two paths...

I think they say Teemu was a kindergarten teacher ;)

What level of education does Paavo teach?

Well, on a cursory look there was this 15-ish dude on a BBS somewhere saying he's his teacher, so I'd say adolescents.

Hank:

How do you see this stuff? Are you in Finland? I'm a paralegal and it's my nature to want to know everything about everything because that's what I get paid to do. That having been said, Paavo Selanne is quite the mystery because it seems no one's ever seen him or hears from him. I guess he lays low. Being that he's Teemu's twin, I just want to know what this guy looks like. Does he look like Teemu (no, his parents couldn't have been blessed with two boys that look that good)?

I'm asking the questions, so if you have the answers, bring it, Hank!

I am a parapsychic ;) ...or then I google. Teemu & Paavo made some commercials, taffel snacks I believe and they are twins, identical twins. And considering they're born the same year as I am that makes them old farts ;)

Yeah, right! Old farts. How do you see these guys? Are you in Finland? How do I sign up because I can't imagine two Teemus. I'm moving to Finland!

Where can we see this commerical and/or a picture thereof Stateside? I need to see this for myself!

Keep the info coming, you're on a roll, now!

Take a time warp to 1997 or something like that. Some Finnish fan may have them saved.

Oh, come on, Hank. You can do better than that! You're like the answer-guy on here, right? Well, help me out with this. I want to see what these Selanne boys look like when they're standing next to each other. It's a great mystery of life and you could help solve it!

Seriously, someone must have a photo of this guy.

This is on a need to know basis and I need to know!

Puck's in your zone, Hank.

We may have to have you called on a game misconduct! As we say in Missouri, if you wanna be a bear, be a grizzly!

OH MY GOSH! YOU TOTALLY MADE MY ENTIRE DAY! I eat that licorice. In fact, I just bought some at our grocery store here in Phoenix the other day. See, I knew that stuff was good!

Are you in Finland? Are you native? Hook me up with some more of those commericals! By the way, if you know of any with Paavo in them, I really want to see this guy. I'm told he looks just like Teemu.

Ah, it just doesn't get any better than that.

Mighty Ducks and Coyotes play here in Phoenix two times next month and I am set to check Mr. Selanne out on the ice for practice.

Thanks again and keep anything Teemu coming my way!
