And even for cross country you most likely need another pair of longjohns, woollen ones. First cotton or "sports" longjohns, then woollen ones, then windbreaker. Or, for downhill, thicker ones.

You'll probably want to wear lots of extra padding anyway, if you can downhill anything like me...

(I can still remember people on chairlifts cheering and the occasional "Are you ok?")

Thanks all of you for the tip. I manage to buy a cheap one in Prisma, which I think is already good enough, with all the tips you provided. It costs around 32EUR, not as expensive as 150EUR which I saw in some stores.

It has the same effect for skiing, good for cross country. Downhill? well I am not sure, but I am sure this will hold for me as a beginner.
