Re: Katsastus question...
Hello, again. Wanted to ask new question. If you decide, to change the suspension, for example, install a lift kit and put bigger tyres, is again needed "muutoskatsastus" or something else? Where can I find information in english, of how much you can lift the car, how big tyres you can put, what inspection needed after changes etc? Thanks...
Re: Katsastus question...
Things ofcourse are simpler in an english speaking country.
The vehicle settings for legal road use are contained in the vehicle manufacturers specs, SO when a vehicle is allowed to be used anywhere its because the standard vehicle specs and adjustable limits are acceptable to the countries Road laws/Insurance qualifications.
I guess what i am saying is there should be an option in the vehicle details about the min-max tyre settings that are acceptable to the manufacturer.
Beyond that is a grey area between the manufacturers expressed Limits and specific road laws or lack of.
In anycase i know from experience that keeping the wheels set with in the manufacturers max limits does have a bearing in terms of the vehicle is still an "Original Legislated Vehicle for use on public roads".
The key with lift kits is to seek the Lift kit manufacturers details, thereby you can determine whether the specific lift kit and your vehicle type have some sort of Finnish/EU road use certificate.

Re: Katsastus question...
In a normal intelligent country which finland appears to be.
You would expect that a modified vehicle(vehicle that has a modification beyond the manufacturers standard specs/adjustable limits) must be insured and re classed as such.
