Wow, you can take any combination of these words and come up with the next HIM song...Lintusgirl wrote: shadow

Yap, that's amusing translation. Trying to translate that is rather difficult:daive wrote:Varjojen pimeydessä unelmien tyttöniAndrew_S wrote: In shadows dark my girl of dreams
her love doth make with Gothic screams.
hänen rakkaus täynnä kotikiljua.
Not the right translation, but a more amusing one!!
Pimeissä varjoissa unelmieni tyttö
tekee rakastelunsa Goottilaisesti kiljuen
I'm not sure about that. Any comments? (Screaming while making love?)
Cheers,

Hey! Thanks everybody for your help! The combonations of the words you all came up with were quite interesting. By the way, The Rasmus are getting a little better known in the states, but not too many people know about them. You can't buy their old records here or anything, which really sucks. They're my favorite band. I love HIM too. The reason I was asking about those words is mostly because I'm going to change my email address and I wanted it to have something Finnish in it because I'm fascinated by the language. Thanks again, everybody!
Wow, I like thisPerhaps we should give some more poetic translations..
e.g. "sweet dreams my love!..."
kaunita unia kultasini...or..mun rakastajani kaunita unia...
It could be also: "Kaniita unia rakkaani!"
I think this is the best translation of that expression.
sweetheart = sydänkäpy; sydän = heart, käpy = cone

We had visitors in Summer of 2004 and one of them knew who the Rasmus were, but was unaware they were from Finland, if I remember right, she thought they were Yanks.JasonS wrote:Are The Rasmus getting big in the States too? I heard they just played two sold out nights at the Astoria(capacity approx 2000) in London. Thats quite amazing considering they were completly unknown in England a few months ago.
Just checked ... In the Shadows was either 14th or 22nd best selling UK single of 2004 depending on whom you believe. So not complete unknowns.
