Yap, that's amusing translation. Trying to translate that is rather difficult:

Pimeissä varjoissa unelmieni tyttö
tekee rakastelunsa Goottilaisesti kiljuen

I'm not sure about that. Any comments? (Screaming while making love?)

I am having trouble with the 'her love doth make'.

See, "she love doth make" means she is making love, but "her love doth make" means "her love is making".

Hey! Thanks everybody for your help! The combonations of the words you all came up with were quite interesting. By the way, The Rasmus are getting a little better known in the states, but not too many people know about them. You can't buy their old records here or anything, which really sucks. They're my favorite band. I love HIM too. The reason I was asking about those words is mostly because I'm going to change my email address and I wanted it to have something Finnish in it because I'm fascinated by the language. Thanks again, everybody!

Perhaps we should give some more poetic translations..

e.g. "sweet dreams my love!..."
kaunita unia kultasini...or..mun rakastajani kaunita unia...
Wow, I like this :)
It could be also: "Kaniita unia rakkaani!"
I think this is the best translation of that expression.

sweetheart = sydänkäpy; sydän = heart, käpy = cone :)

Fluent :roll: Yeah right... rakkautensa it should be. hänen rakkaus sounds really stupid. It could be: Sen rakkaus

We had visitors in Summer of 2004 and one of them knew who the Rasmus were, but was unaware they were from Finland, if I remember right, she thought they were Yanks.

Just checked ... In the Shadows was either 14th or 22nd best selling UK single of 2004 depending on whom you believe. So not complete unknowns.
