No no no,
- it is *marketed* as a sausage.
- men claim it counts as a vegetable (as it has no meat).
- and women find it disgusting

Though it isn't quite that bad... there is a few generic resembling sausages as well. I prefer HK blå to say Lauantai/sipulitee & al as it is slightly less greasy. Then again my favorite is Hakala Suomilenkki ;)
True, true! :D I actually hate sipuliteemakkara, as that's the only
meat besides eggs that I could afford when I first moved here. It
was recently on sale in Sello so the other adult in this house bought some.
I was afraid to look in the fridge :D

But Gotler and Jahtimakkara are good 0=).

Have women started eating hookoobloo now that they have light
versions? Hmmh.

Well, they're just very literate, formal and slightly old-fashioned "fifties" Finnish - Hank hit the nail squarely on the head by submitting pics from old "Suomi-Filmi" In other words, not rude at all, and the general idea behind each is more or less the same as in your original sentences.

I'll try and make one translation so you'll get the idea

6. Valintatilanteen edessä olisin todennäköisesti taipuvaisempi kohtaamaan harmitusta ja kohtalon kismittäviä takaiskuja Teidän rinnallanne kuin miellyttäviä tuokioita jonkun toisen henkilön keralla

"Faced with the two possible alternatives that present themselves, I think that I would perhaps be more inclined to choose confronting some misfortune and chagrin alongside with You, rather than spend some fleeting, albeit pleasure-filled moments in the company of some other person."

Or something like that...
