I am from the USA and I’m looking to apply for a residence permit based on a startup company / entrepreneurship. My business partner is a native Finnish citizen, and we have tens of thousands of euros in funding for the first year which is more than enough for salary. Plus the startup costs for this business are small. It will be a consulting style company helping secure internet sites. He runs another small company without me that has done well financially. In our new company I will make salary, I am registered already to pay taxes, and I will own part of the company, at least 30%.
I am wondering a couple of things.
What is the difference between a RP requiring a partial decision and one for self-employment? On the stats, it seems that the majority of partial decision apps get approved while the vast majority of self-employment gets denied. I know our business will need to go through a couple stages of approval, but I was wondering which category we would fall into?
Secondly, I am wondering if anyone knows of any specific things I should include in my application that I might not have thought of. Does anyone have success stories from this type of thing? If your permit was declined, why?

Re: Startup Entrepreneur RP
Employment with partial decision is employment where the employment office makes a partial decision whether this job could be done by unemployed people instead of granting a residence permit.Ctvartain wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 7:51 amI am from the USA and I’m looking to apply for a residence permit based on a startup company / entrepreneurship. Specialist residence permit is a lot faster for employment, and does not require a partial decision.
Owning 30% disqualifies you from residence permits based on employment.
Normal entrepreneur residence permit takes a year for a decision and is often denied.
Start-up entrepreneur is a new residence permit, requirements include "the team shares a vision to grow company to reach at least tens of millions revenue at global markets".

Does anyone know what the most common reasons for entrepreneur RP’s getting negative decisions is?
