Re: Where are the medals?
By all accounts (what I've read of the British broadsheets), Radcliffe's performance only highlighted the poor showing of everyone else. Only ONE British male finalist in a track event (Benjamin 5th in 400m), a whole shed of under-achievers looking likely to get their grant funding cut heavily, two cosmetic relay bronze medals after the Septics dropped the ball or got DQ'd, and much the same existential angst as was felt here in Finland. There have been a good many editorial broadsides and "heads must roll" statements, including one from Lord Half-Miler, who is naturally a bit piqued at having got London an Olympic Games that on current form won't provide much joy for the local fans/impoverished tax-payers.159753 wrote:I bet you are happy with Paula Radcliffe with her gold on the marathon.scoobymcdoo wrote:Come on UK!!!

She ran a good race, by the way. Class act. But her nodding-head-dog style gives me the willies.
