Hi all
Do you happen to know how-where to get started with software development in Helsinki.
we are going through the immigration process, my wife is finishing her YKI-targeted language studies in a couple of months and the next step is to study for the job. She wants to move to software development and it would be great to find some good courses that unemployment office could support.
Hopefully in English (Finnish could be okay, but studying in English would be much easier), something that goes from zero and targeting to place you to real projects ASAP (the sooner the practical work, the better).
Does anybody know where to look for these things?

She would anyway not fulfil the formal language requirements for studies taught in Finnish._doctor wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 11:36 pmDo you happen to know how-where to get started with software development in Helsinki.

There are courses in English that would bring her from zero to a job in software development in only 1.5 years like for example https://en.bc.fi/qualifications/full-st ... r-program/ but I doubt that she would be able to receive unemployment benefits for that.
The contact person for her unemployment should be able to answer questions regarding study options while receiving unemployment benefits.

Your wife should try the Finnish course as much as possible. I do not know her level of Finnish but she has more chance in finding a job while continuously learning in Finnish.
Check these links and choose which field is suitable for her and show it to her teacher and to his TE officer

Good luck!
