Ice Hockey anyone?

Post by kogepan » Fri Sep 02, 2005 9:36 pm

8) Hello all, I am new to this forum. I am currently playing ice hockey at Hernesaari on Thursdays from 1-3pm. Are there any female players or english speakers out there who has the time and would like to join me? It would be nice to get those together who are interested! Also, if you play shinny outdoors during winter time...by all means please let me know! It gets quite lonely on the ice when I cannot speak Finnish fluently!!

Sorry if I offended anyone...I hope to find a few hockey buddies hehe :P
Hope to see you on the ice soon!!!

Heippa Kirby!!

:D Wow! I can't believe I got 1 reply!!! hehe..no I am not looking only for women but anybody who is into hockey! I will be playing this Thursday at Jaaherne in hernesaari! You can take bus 14b from Kamppi to get there or if you have car it is better since there are plenty of parking places!! It starts from 1300 --1500! I am off work on Thursdays that is why I have time to play pick-up..no one wears complete equipment and some guys without any shin pads!! better to protect yourself with something at least!!...this indoor ice is not bad and you do not freeze your butt as much as outdoor rinks...the outdoor ones are not ready till real late in the winter!! Plus you have to fork out about 2 euros for those tekojaa ones...this one is FREE,...excellent!! Please join me if you are free then!! :P

If someone of you are innterested in the Hockey World Championship in May, in Riga, and can't find a hotel-room, I might help.
My wife is from Riga and there will not be enough of beds at the hotels, so we have discussed about fixing some extra beds at the homes of some relatives and friends.
It will be cheaper than living in a hotel, so if someone is intrested, please contact me.

Well, I'm not in Finland, but if it's possible to play virtually from Phoenix, Arizona US of A, I'm in! I'm having one heck of a time finding players for our women's 3-on-3 team. We're loaded on our regulation team but the 3x3 is a bit of a challenge.

By the way, if you've never played 3x3, I highly recommend it. It's the rage in Phoenix hockey right now. Unfortunately, we only have one 3x3 rink here and it's 45 minutes, one way, from my house. Totally worth it though. It's a much faster game and you get more puck action than in regulation hockey.

If anyone from Finland is ever over here in Phoenix, drop by and let's hit the ice!
