Processing Times for Spouse RP

Hello! I was wondering if someone here recently applied for a spouse RP (preferably NON-EU) how long did it take for you to get a decision? Does it really take as long as 6-9 months as mentioned on the migri website? I would love to hear some of your experiences!

I have been waiting 1 month and will update when I receive it.

Hello,
We submitted our application on September 20, 2024. We still haven’t received a decision. I am a Finnish citizen, and my wife is not an EU citizen. Migri keeps replying with standard phrases like “the processing time is up to 9 months,” “we have too many applications,” and “please wait.”

Nine months is enough to bring a child into the world, but they still haven’t managed to process the application.

For the sake of providing anecdotes about it, here's the timeline of mine that got accepted today. I applied in UK. Obviously everyone's is different and it does seem really random, but I'm posting this anyway as proof that it can happen a lot quicker than 9 months in some cases.

15.08.2025 A diary number has been created for your application. You can see the diary number at the top of the page. Your application has been placed in the processing queue. We will contact you if we need more information from you. Our processing times can be found on our website at www.migri.fi
29.09.2025 The decision has been made. If you cannot see the document concerning your decision, please wait patiently. You will be contacted.
