Hello everyone,
I am new to the board but have been reading some posts and found very helpful information. However, i thought i would try posting here as i really need some advice and i do not know where else to turn to.
I am 24 and just graduated with a MSc in management of IT from a university in the UK, but i am originally from thailand. With the same situation as some other people, i have a finnish bf and we would really like to be together as we have been apart for too many years now and it has been very difficult for both of us.
However, the problem is, as you may have already figured out, i am not an eu citizen, therefore obtaining a residence permit is quite an issue for me. I cannot rely on my bf either because he is still in the university so he cannot really support me while looking for jobs. I have had a suggestion on going to finland and finding a job from there as it might increase more chances but i can only be there for a maximum of 3 months with a tourist visa and i would also need money to support myself..
I wonder if anybody could give me some advice on how i can be in finland. I think i can start off with any kind of part-time job but then again, i will be holding the tourist visa which probably does not allow me to work.. I can speak some finnish as i had been there years ago as an exchange student. If you come up with any idea at all, please let me know, i would really really appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance!

I would really like to move to finland, please help..!
Why don't you apply for IT jobs in Finland while you are there in UK. If you get the job then your employer will give you the offer letter and then you can apply for residence permit.
The other way could be to become a student in Finland, but again I have heard it requires to have 6000 Euros in bank account.
There are permits based on family ties probably someone would tell you more about it.
I think the best bet is to come through a job, you will need a job anyway in Finland.
Good Luck
