Re: folding bicycles in finland
I haven't seen folding bikes here. They make those sort of city bikes with the tiny wheels, but they don't fold.jpp wrote:hi,

Finland is very cyclist friendly, the cities I've visited have excellent cyclepaths (cyclists mix with pedestrians here not with the cars).
Most apartment blocks and workplaces have nice covered bike storage so I just wonder why you want one that folds?

As sinikala mentioned most workplaces (in fact nearly all) and a lot of shops have places to store bicycles. a folding one is generally not necessary.

But what shall it profit a people if they satisfy all material desires, but leave for their children nothing, only a wasteland.
I think you're allowed to take "normall" bikes in trains - there's a fee though.
I haven't tried any folding one but I'd imagine it to be slightly harder to cycle around town - yes, there's loads of paths but also quite a few hills. Prhaps that is the reason why I haven't seen that many of them?
And those "kicking bikes" have to be the most ridiculous fashion trend to come around in years.

Be careful not to leave your bike unattented in bad places because some scum like to steal them or just vandalize them only because they can. I don't know if there's cameras there now but a few years ago I heard it happening more than once about parking it next to Kiasma.
I don't know about the place but I have got suspicious Trust your feeling where and how to park it.
My bike is a cheap ps with many many kilometers cycled but I like it so I never would leave it anywhere like that so I haven't got real experience of parking it like that. Also bad bikes get stolen though
