Some threads seem to disappear mysteriously. Like there was thread about antiques is Finland some time ago, and I was then looking for earlier thread about antique shops that I recalled - I could not find it.

You mean this one? It was gremlins my friend, gremlins (and possibly something about earning money online (by a spammer), operator tiredness and a slip of the finger).

Anyone know where i can listen for free online??? the bbc doesnt let me cause they are only allowed to broadcast to the uk. so they use something that checks if you use a uk service provider.... anyone got any ideas where i can listen to the liverpool match????

Cheers

Jussi

PS can i get around that bbc thing by using a proxy???

Probably the best way to do it is to find the local radio staition for the area of the game you want to list to and tune into that one. I know the Beeb wont let you do it so thats how I used to get around it. If charlton where playing say Liverpool I would try to find a radio station from Liverpool normally a comercial one and tune into that.

At least that doesn't work for Everton games.

Everton games are broadcast locally on either Radio City or Radio Merseyside but they don't stream the games as radio coverage via the web is done through the Everton website (it costs £1 per game to listen).

LFC games should be similar, you can find the odd dodgy site that will give you a live feed for free, but it's easier just to cough up and buy it through

I've read that on http://www.coolstreaming.it you can watch Premiership games for free, those that are broadcasted on asian channels.
Not sure if games are shown live though (the site seems to be down)

I allegedly listen to Everton games on planetfootball, through a link on a fans website I use. planet football serves most clubs and you should be able to find a fans site where links to radio broadcasts and perhaps TV broadcasts are posted, but of course I am not condoning that you undertake this illegal practice Wink

A scrappy game, (it was on Canal+) but a point apiece was a fair result. Not sure what went through Ferguson's mind and Roberts should have known better too, dickheads.

We (Everton that is) were alright in the first half but second half we were awful, and Ferguson is a dickhead. Now we have two recognised strikers available for the next three games after signing no-one.

Was nice to get Engish commentary on Canal plus this time though....for some reason. Still, it'll be better when I go home to UK this weekend to see Everton v Man City and Everton v Blackburn in the flesh, hooray. Watching it in a pub full of people who don't care, in Tampere, just wasn't the same, you look a bit of an idiot cheering and slapping your head in frustration when you're the only one. Still, better than being in a pub full of the plastic Liverpool and Man Utd fans here, who have never been near a football ground in their lives and only support Liverpool because 'Sami plays for them doesn't he'?

Lucky so and so, I used to get to the match regularly 89-99 but haven't been since I moved here Crying or Very sad it takes so much effort just to visit my folks, and we usually go during the summer, so outside the footy season... besides, I'd feel guilty dragging my better half to Goodison, she hates footy.

I don't know any bars in Pori here that show footy, that said I'm not big on pubs in the first place. Perhaps you could add that Tampere one to this site
Soccerbars so far they only list 2 for the whole of Finland!

If it's a weekend game we sometimes go to watch it with another scouse couple (they're both RS but good folk) they've got Canal Plus too, but a better telly!

As for the Wigan game itself we were ok first half but our munchkins rarely looked like scoring, & we were much better vs. Chelsea (it was nice to see the cup game on Yle 24, did you see it?)

Shocked They are showing live cup games? I watched some England games on YLE24 but I didn't know about this.

I wish though they would put on some Championship games like they used to on YLE 2, especially as my team are doing so amazingly well. At least you Prem fans have some chance to see your team on TV.

There's only the one game at 17:00 on a Sat. This time it was EFC - Chelsea, can't remember who it was in the previous round, it wasn't one of the big teams though, might have been Brighton, didn't catch that one.

Who do you follow again Jason?

I make no promises that it works, as I didn't bother trying... nor do I vouch for the legality or otherwise of the exercise, but it's worth a try if you don't have Canal+ (mwuah-mwuah-mwuah - mind you it looks like we have Blackburn-Manure tonight instead of the Slaughter of the Brummies at Anfield Sad ).

Hmmm... I'm beginning to suspect that you aren't really in Namibia.
