Hei,
during my studies I may spent some time (a year or a half year) abroad (not Finland). I wonder, what will happen with my residence permit? Will I have to register for a new one when I re-enter the country? Because if I have to do so I will have to put student as reason and then I won't receive the Kela student aid anymore... By the way, I am German and I am right now permanently registered in Finland

What if I leave the country for a half year or a year?

If you already get students financial aid from Kela, you can take it with you abroad if you are going to study there subjects that will be accredited towards your Finnish degree.
