Any one else interested in case if find some options?

The Espoo archipelago ferries start up soon.... take your tackle out to the islands - you're bound to catch something. The ferry timetables can be found in the Espoo guide brochure (if you live in Espoo then you got it through your door) or on the town website http://www.espoo.fi You can fish in any lake (permit from the post office, required unless you are under 18 I think). People even fish off the bridges in town.

I live near Kirkkonummi and have found a couple of places near there to fish.

The first one is in Kantvik harbour - you can spin there but the reeds make it difficult to cover the water effectively especially as the spring turns to summer. I am hoping to sort myself out with a canoe or boat sometime his year anjd it think this would be a good place. I have lost a couple of very big pike on dead baits.

Another is a clear water lake (as opposed to peaty) near Kirkkonummi centre. Its a popular swimming place but there are good fishing spots dotted around the lake shore - so walking is required. I have got pike upto 7lb on the fly using surface poppers (great sport!) so l imagine a surface plug would be great too. Usually l get at least 2-3 and up to 15 (which l return) fish time when l walk the whole way around. I'll email you a map if your interested.

I also went fishing on the Island of Pelliki near Porvoo once3 and caught a lot of perch - the only problem is that again it is difficult to cover the water because of weed/reed and peoples houses. Again a boat would be useful.

I'm up for a fishing trip, however l work aboard 50% so it wil depend when

cheers

Hey great, thanks you too!

Allen, yes Kirkkonumm sounds very interesting, could you send a map. The boat is a good idea. I also travel a lot (in Brussels now) but are you busy sat or sunday this weekend?

We went out in Pohja bay this weekend with motorboat and canoe... hoping to get whitefish.... nothing  it was quite windy, not sure if that makes a difference. But it was a fantastic day.... the boat has survived another winter , it actually started almost first time. The kids had tons of fun: we got a battery powered outboard motor for the canoe, from Biltema. OK not cheap... about 290 euro but it is brilliant for moving around inside the islands, and so quiet, you can't hear it.
