Im totally new here from indonesia

Hey,is there anyone who felt the way i feel now out there.....im new here from indonesia and been here for 15 days,im here to be with my bf who is finn and might be getting married soon.....but then how does everything will be and how should i enter to this culture or community.....u know everyday im alone as he is always at work,im a lil bit frustrated about language and my daily life....and currently im on my tourist visa here but could i able to obtain my resident permit after i got married.....pls someone out there do let me know where i can find the ASIAN community in finland

Saya belum tinggal di Finlandia sehingga nggak bisa ngomong apa-apa mengenai masyarakat Asia di Helsinki. Dan selain itu saya bukan orang Asia....sayang, situs Kedubes Indonesia di Helsinki pun nggak ada informasi untuk orang Indonesia yang tinggal di Finlandia, hanya mengenai harga pelayanan konsular

Tapi kenapa kamu ingin mencari masyarakat Asia di Finlandia? Kamu dapatkan sedikit culture shock kan? Apa kamu tak mau memperdalam budaya dan bahasa Finlandia? Kalau kamu menikah dan mungkin akan tinggal di Finlandia, kok lebih baik mulai belajar bahasa Finlandia secepat mungkin. Mungkin di kelas bahasa Finlandia kamu juga bisa bertemu dengan orang Asia. Tapi pasti ada orang Asia yang mengunjungi situs ini dan bisa membantu kamu dengan lebih baik dari saya

Yeah anyway when u will be in finland,really i got this culture shock.....hmmm coz this is my first in EU,during my past 10 years been round and lived in ASIA......culture and language will be my 1st priority after i get married

I guess you might have some preferences which kind of Asian you are looking for but...according to the Metro-paper the biggest Chinese community in the Nordic countries is in Otaniemi.

Hey Sahara!!

My family and I arrived in Finland in September 2005 from Malaysia

I must admit it was a bit lonely for us too at first but once you've been here for few months, you'll find Finland a pretty nice place to live in.

I dont think that there is one...there are a few in the student area of Otaniemi..I often see them wandering around the Tapiola shopping area...
Try Saturday afternoons wander around the squares and check Stockmanns area, some use MacDonalds and there is a quite good Chinese restaurant there perhaps they use it....
It is up some steps to the right and above the store called Aslekki (opposite Sokos).
But they are only here to study...they soon leave and head back to wherever they came from
A tip......If you are going to become really settled long term in Finland you need to mix with Finns.

Hmmm......thanx for your suggestion,and yeah sure i did mix around with finns....the neighbour but mostly they hardly speak english so after say hi and small chat then we dont continue as we start blur with the language...but soon i will get my finnish language course.....its should be ok then,...........Kiitos,kiitos.........
