There is possibility to open Capoeira classes (for the beginning once a week, 1,5 hour) in Espoo area. The classes would be free of charge and the only cost would be gym renting fee spited by users.
There is no place arranged yet and that would need some help from potential practitioners (I know that Bostalls skola is available on Wednesdays from 20:00 and it costs 6EUR/hour). So if someone is interested in such free classes please let me know.
Capoeira is a unique manifestation of Afro-Brazilian culture. Best described as a mixture of game, dance, and competition, Capoeira is practiced to the sound of traditional Brazilian instruments, clapping, and songs sung in Brazilian Portuguese.
The game begins when two partners enter the circle, moving and playing to the rhythm of the music. Exchanging fantastic leaps, flips, and tricky ground movements and flowing kicks, the improvised game that occurs becomes a captivating and beautiful art.
There is a certain magic to be found only in the roda (circle) of Capoeira. Likewise, there is also a certain elation found in the joining of voices and collective effort that make the game beautiful.
Practicing of Capoeira will give you a cardiovascular work out. You will develop your mind and your body work together as you concentrate on anticipating your opponent's next move. Being creative and inventive with your moves will keep your opponents on their toes while you build up your strength. And you'll be so busy learning and perfecting your moves, you won't even notice your thighs toning. As well as increasing strength and agility, practicing this art form will boost your self-confidence and teach you some nifty self-defence techniques.

Gain a singing voice

Hey,
I would be potentially interested in doing some capoeira (although I am not that good). Would these classes be with a teacher or will just everybody practise on their own? Or are you a teacher?
Anyway I am definetely up for something and 8pm in the evening sounds great-wouldnt be able to make it much earlier. I am living in Helsinki but pretty near Espoo. So as long as there will be a bus /train connection to the place all is good. =) I also wouldnt mind helping out with some stuff.
Hope to hear from you soon!

no problem see you next saturday.
the entrance is tricky a little bit as you enter the gym from the side of the building (but even the door is locked there is a bell in the wall you can use)
