Question to experts,
Do i have to pay my pension for the first year being in Finlnad? I am no sure that I ll stay here more than a year. Any suggestions.

Yes, you pay. You will get maybe 20 cents then when you are 65.... the pension system is that you work = you pay, even if you are 16 but the pension doesn't start cumulating until you were... 25 was it? Don't remember.

Are you sure? Coz I thought that expats (eg at Nokia etc) qualified for lower rates of PAYE at least for the first year or so if they were on temporary relocation contracts. I assumed that was effectively to compensate for not paying into state pension and unemployment etc. Your employer should know.

You are not up to date. Pension system changed starting 1.1.2005, now it starts cumulating at the age of 18. It cumulates 1,5% per year between ages 18-52, 1,9% per year after 52, and 4,5% after 63 years.
