A's were my fav team when I was a kid, back when they had the ultimate dream team (Canseco, McGwire, Henderson, etc...). Who knew they were on the juice! I used to go to all their games against the sox (white, that is) wearing full A's garb
Which reminds me, I have most of that teams rookie cards back at my mom's place in chicago along with an autographed softball (the one I used on my girls league) by McGwire. Wonder if they'd be worth anything?

sorry to tell you....they're pretty much worth nothing. I collected cards back in that time too. Too many companies flooded the market and made everything worth crap. Maybe if you have something in mint condition in 50 years then it might be something. Unless it is Canseco or McGwire.......they're hated by pretty much everyone now after the 'roids. Public opinion doesn't even consider McGwire or Bonds's home run records valid anymore. This year when Ryan Howard and David Ortiz were on pace to challenge 61 hrs, there were a bunch of articles about the "real" home run record chase referring to the non-juiced players.

Grew up on the shores of Birch Lake, just outside that huge metropolis of Babbitt (15 miles south of Ely). The Finns from Embarrass all came to our high school. I remember we considered Duluth a big city, and Minneapolis was "way down south" where it was so hot that people needed air conditioning in the summertime!kmboll wrote:Where in the range are you from?
Over this past weekend I attended my 30th college class reunion at Gustavus Adolphus College down in St. Peter.
