Hello Everyone.
just wanted to say hello and thanks to some of the pioneers of this site who have stuck around and made this site a real resource for people interested in moving to Finland.
I have been here only a short time and I am already amazed by the mass of information that seems to be here.
Right now my girlfriend (FINNISH) and I are trying to get me a job find me work in Finland. As you all no thats no easy task but this site is a great help.
I just returned home to Canada after a nice 3 month stay in Finland, The summers there are soooo beautiful.
I have visted many times and each time it gets harder to leave the land and the people who have become my family there.
I like music, road cycling, photoshop and anything to do with graphic design.
I am a web/graphic designer by trade and have worked in the advertising industry for the past 4 years.
before that I went to school Canadian college and recieved what would be the equivlent of a Finnish polytechnics degree? I am not sure where that ranks.
If anyone has any ideas where I can start, or knows somebody that could help me find work I would appreciate to hear of it and gratefull.
or if you have something in common lets chat. I am here to make friends and contacts.
and I hope I can be as useful to someone as some of you have been to me.
Cheers
Jamie
* note I tryed posting a message earlier which I can not find anywhere, I have no idea where I put it or if it was removed, I might have not submitted it. I guess if you find it sorry for the double post.

Mattlill2000- I have visted perry sound a few times, actually road my bicycle up there a couple summers ago. Its a really nice town.
kalmisto - Thanks for the link, do you think the group takes wannabe Canadians living in Finland? I have to get a yahoo ID but I will do that and see, hopefully they don't shun me.

They will not shun you! I have sent some messages to the CLIF list and have not been shunned although I have never pretended to be a Canadian living in Finland. ( I am a Finn living in Sweden. )

Cliff is cool Jamie, check it out. We have get togethers every once in awhile. Most notably during the World Hockey Championships and Canada Day. Otherwise Carmen does a great job in keeping everybody informed and together.
Also you should check out Suomikanadaseura which has a magazine and a bunch of other stuff about Canada and Finland. Ask Carmen via Clif for more info.
But beware..............Not all of them are Leaf fans!!!!!!!!

Hey kalmisto and Mattlill2000 You guys are great. Thanks for that link to clif, I have made one post there and everyone is already bending over backwards to help me out.
Its so nice. I guess there is truely something great between Canadians and Finns makes me very proud to be associated with both.
But I just wanted to say an extra thank you to you both for pointing it out to me as place to look, perhaps we will see each other down the road at one of those get togethers.
cheers
