Anyone in Kent, UK who can teach me Finnish?

Post by aguycalledchris » Tue Oct 31, 2006 4:40 pm

Hi all, i've started to learn Finnish in preparation to move to Tampere, loads of people have given me lots of advice on what books and courses are useful, but what i'd really like is a tutor. So if theres anyone in the Kent area, or if you know of anyone who would be willing to teach could you please let me know.

Kiitos paljon :D

Hmm... the University of Jyväskylä (at least) used to send quite a few bilateral exchange students to the U. of Kent, C... don't know if they still do... but the chances are that at least some exchange students, or actually degree students from Finland might have found their way to Canterbury

Check this out... http://www.isory.org/ - they might know!

Btw I briefly visited Canterbury AGES ago, it was in -89 or so. In the rain, how else. Popped down from London just to see the -wait for it- Cathedral. Loved it. But haven't been to Canterbury since...

Kiitos! I'll be in touch with them and hopefully get in contact with some Finns who are willing to teach.

Don't mention it! This organisation http://www.finn-guild.org/ might also be able to help...!

Paljon kiitoksia! I took a look at those sites, they seem very helpful. Best be off, Chelsea are playing Barcelona tonight, shame I support Bristol City! Thanks again :D

Unfortunately I am in no state to teach as I am only learning myself, but if you wanted someone to practise speaking with I live in Kent also.

I could try teaching if you're up to taking a journey to London. PM me if you're interested.

No Ashford isn't to far away at all. Started to learn Finnish about 3 years ago, for about a month, then stopped and have only recently decided to give it a proper go again. having someone to practice with would be cool.

To Nalis, where abouts in London? Its a bit of a trek as I don't drive, but could prove useful.
