I agree. The softness of snow really turns out nicely, the light is so "winter light" and the little girl is so pretty, like a fairy on a forest.

So is there still snow or has it all melted, Im leaving LA tomorrow, its 35 plus here with crystal clear blue skys, I can even see the mountains.
Great shots do you have the exif for the photos, I like how the background is soft focused and crisp n clear on your subject, is it the aperture or the shutter speed that makes the diff

For some odd freak of nature it hasn't, (except downtown maybe, streets are clear on the ploughed bits) and the weather forecast is promising it freezing up for the weekend, so you'll have a prime chance to learn again how to waddle like a duck and try not to slip into a 3-inch deep pool of slush. of course during the weekend the pools of slush will be ice rinks covered with some powder snow so you can choose the hard way...

I head back to Torrance sometime in January.

Here are the settings:

Taken with Nikon d50, Tamron AF 55-200 DX II

ISO 400
F4.2-5.5
ss 125 - 250
