Not exactly moving but...
Hey guys
Newbie here, I'm a 16 year old male from New Zealand and I'm coming on a student exchange to Finland next year. I don't have a clue about anything else yet, but I just want to know a bit about the country and the food and people etc.
Many thanks
Zac

But we're practicing and hXc has a year to practice too.
hxc just use the search tool on the forum, especially for posts that start, 'Hi I was an exchange student in Finland, I met this girl called Hanna, I don't remember her last name but she had blonde hair and blue eyes...

When I was your age "sonny"

If you come to need any specific advice when you get here, you might wanna get yourself a new username and re-introduce yourself, as I would hazard a guess that some of the more informed and usually very helpful regulars on here possibly won't respond well to a request to do the wiping for you because you are self-proclaimed lazy

I don't have a clue yet. I only know that I'm in the process of being accepted by afs.gon2o wrote:which town?hXc wrote:

And I'm sorry to all those offended by my lazy comment. It's not as if I'm lazy but if I can find something out easily, that's the way I'll do it. Maybe it doesn't help that I'm a drummer too, as we look for shortcuts and easy ways to do things.
Is there a fire poi scene up that way? I've just started spinning and it would be cool to meet some other people in Finland who spin fire too.

Afs exchange programs... do me a favour. They're sooo annoying. You won't be allowed to go drinking or do anything fun; unless you're hanging out with the whole AFS student crowd, you won't be doing much.
Get used to socializing, going on tours, skiing and all that stuff with geeky AFS exchange students from the rest of the world whilst all the hot finnish girls giggle at all of you from a distance. Do yourself a favour and travel abroad with some other company. AFS smothers its students like there is no tomorrow.
Did I mention their selection process in several countries is also rigged and very corrupt? I don't know what it is like in NZ but, what did you have to do during the selection process???
