moving to finland

ok next question from my wife Ulla ( who say,s that this site is for english summer men) 8)
Does any one know if english appliances work ok in finland .....ie T.V ,computers, washing machine, dish washer iron (cancel iron she does not know what one is) :lol: 8) but you get the idea.....

Yes, but you do need to get plug adapters, or change the plugs to "schuko". And getting them adapters from the UK might be an idea. Also bring extention cords so you can plug one with an adapter to the wall and then don't need to battle with trying to get them and the adapeters to fit in to an euro extention cord. Computers and stuff with a standard cord you can take off is you just buy a new cord here. Now if the telly is old and you still got a VCR, then you have a bit of a problem, or might as the continent uses a different PAL for sound. But modern tellys ought to be able to handle multiple frequencies. (Not much worth hauling an old telly over anyways, weighs a tonne). So if you've wanted a flat screen telly, now is the time to buy.

Yes, they work fine. You just need to get some suitable adapters. When we move to Finland from UK 2 years ago, we brought with us a british DVD player that still works wonderfully to this day.
